Request for Proposals for Medical Sobering Center

The City of Albuquerque is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify qualified providers to establish and operate a Medical Sobering Center. This initiative is critical in addressing substance use challenges in our community by providing a safe, medically supervised environment for individuals experiencing acute intoxication.

The City is seeking innovative and experienced providers who can deliver services aligned with best practices for harm reduction and public health.

The scope of work for this RFP includes:

  • Offering short-term, medically supervised care for individuals experiencing substance-induced crises.
  • Collaborating with community partners, law enforcement, and emergency medical services to support a seamless referral process.
  • Providing appropriate discharge planning and referrals to behavioral health or other supportive services.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
