National Latino Behavioral Health Association Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration Center for Mental Health Services established the National Congress for Hispanic Mental Health and produced a national agenda called “Creating a Vision for the 21st Century.”  Thus, the formation of the National Latino Behavioral Health Association founded by the original board of directors led by Josie T. Romero.  More than 100 national leaders from across the U.S. including NLBHA’s Executive Director Fred Sandoval were convened to develop a set of recommendations to improve the mental health of Latinos in the U.S.

This year, NLBHA is proud to announce our 25th Anniversary and invite you to join us at the 2025 National Latino Behavioral Health Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a special reception at the Clyde Hotel to commemorate an important milestone in our history in improving the wellbeing of Latinos throughout the U.S. NLBHA is a recognized leader and partner with SAMHSA and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
