Helpline Specialist II

We are seeking two bilingual, part-time helpline specialists to provide direct services over phone and digital channels to family members connecting with the Partnership helpline about a loved one’s substance misuse. This is a remote role.

This position is expected to be funded through December 2026. Duration of this position is dependent on continued funding for the role.

Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Demonstrate and reflect the mission and values of the organization.
  • Proactively coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to fulfill mission and objectives of the job.
  • Provide support by:
    • Assessing needs of significant others
    • Employing CRAFT, Motivational Interviewing and other evidence-based practices to plan next steps, increase hopefulness and self-efficacy
    • Directing parents/caregivers to appropriate services and resources
    • Addressing crisis situations when necessary
  • Provide direct services via digital messaging and phone calls to concerned significant others contacting the Helpline.
  • Actively participate on camera in weekly video team meetings
  • Meet with individual supervisor on regular basis
  • Work independently in remote location
  • Work at least three shifts per week during the following hours for a total of 10-15 hours/week, with flexibility to cover additional shifts, as available:
    • Weekdays 4-8pm ET,
    • Weekends 12-5pm ET

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience and/or training, including:
    • Graduate degree in relevant field such as clinical social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field, or
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as psychology, social work or closely related field, plus 2+ years of relevant full-time work experience, or
    • 4+ years of relevant full-time work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in crisis intervention, addiction and/or family work preferred, 2+ years required.
  • Organized and detailed with strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to convey empathy, understanding and guidance for parents/caregivers
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – fluency reading, writing, and speaking both languages is required.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity

Pay Range: $38.50/hour – $42/hour based on relevant experience and qualifications.
