The “Bob Martinez” Center of Innovation in Latino Behavioral Health is named in honor of Bob Martinez, former NLBHA Board President and a leader and trailblazer in Latino Behavioral Health in California. Bob retired after a long successful career in behavioral health including the County Mental Health Director for San Bernardino and Santa Clara Counties, and Director of the California Institute for Behavioral Health Solutions Center for Multi-Cultural Development.
The Center of Innovation (COI) is dedicated to expanding, promoting, and developing new, effective and innovative approaches, services, campaigns, education, outreach, and culturally informed programming and research efforts to improve the wellness of the Latino population in the U.S. and globally. The COI will serve as an advocacy voice, developer, convener, educator, and thought leader in advancing integrated programs, policies, traditional practices, community-defined programs, and models that help achieve behavioral health equity.
