Staff Scientist

Brazelton Touchpoints Center (BTC) at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) seeks a qualified candidate for a Staff Scientist/Research Lead in their Research and Evaluation (R&E) team. This full-time, hybrid position is based in Boston, MA.

The position is an excellent fit for those seeking to expand their community R&E leadership experience. Projects vary but share the common goal of bridging research & practice in the field of child/youth development, health, & wellness. This position reports to a member of the R&E Leadership team.

Responsibilities
Staff Scientist/Research Leadwill direct/lead daily operations of multi-year evaluations. Opportunities for advancement as a Co-PI/PI are available depending on experience & skills.
Responsibilities include:

  • Daily project management & implementation of evaluation design, data collection & management, data analysis, and reporting; resource delegation, team management, meeting facilitation.
  • Collaborate with PI and senior researchers to set goals for multiple R&E projects; ensure deliverables & goals are met with quality & efficiency.
  • Execute quantitative & qualitative analyses.
  • Mentor/supervise junior staff re: data collection & management, data analysis, & statistical software use.
  • Lead production & dissemination of evaluation products to key shareholders, funders, & broader audiences.
  • Participate in professional development, reflective practice, & supervision to expand/refine skills.
  • Support BTC grant writing team.
  • Special leadership assignments such as advanced data analysis, grant development, & administrative & financial management.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate required.
  • Advanced understanding of program evaluation concepts, design, methods, & procedures to maintain data integrity and quality conformity with requirements & goals.
  • Specialized technical and analytic skill–qualitative and quantitative–to build & organize data systems, execute analyses, & use statistical applications.
  • Experience using data to make data-informed decisions & drive action.
  • Ability to develop & produce evaluation & translational practice reports/presentations. Ability to generate creative and innovative data visualizations and infographics, a plus.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a long-term basis.
  • Spanish language proficiency, a plus.
